Water Filtration
Recommended use of 80 mg/L to remove COD/BOD
-40 and -14X40 mesh products.
Zeolite has the following advantages:
- Zeolites have a particularly high selectivity for ammonium (NH4+) and can reduce the ammonium content in wastewater by up to 97%.
- Modifications such as changing the charge from (-) to (+) give the zeolite the flexibility to absorb anions as well as some non-polar organics like benzene, toluene and xylene.
- Removal and/or recovery of cationic heavy metals up to 97% (Pb, Cu, Cd, Zn, Co, Cr, Mn and Fe; Pb, Cu) in drinking water and wastewater.
- Food industry - Filtration aid to purify and clarify (eg wine or liquid sugar preparations).
Advantages of zeolite/silica sand beds over conventional sand systems (In the case of a top-20 cm bed of Zeolite of a 1 m sand bed)
- Higher flow rate up to 0.75 m3/ h / m2 compared to 0.15 m3/ h / m2, while maintaining water quality (measured in turbidity).
- Longer strokes, up to 50%, even at higher loads.
- Up to 3 to 5 times more treated water between maintenance backwashes.
